On The Wrong Side of the Railroad Tracks
# THCD-61
This TownHall CD is a compilation of songs that arise when confronting political, social, racial, economic, or spiritual "railroad tracks" or boundaries. The twelve tracks include songs by each of the Mayorgas, Duke Ellington, Ewan MacColl, Dorsey Dixon and traditional songs in original arrangements.
Sheri Bauer-Mayorga's unique and expressive voice establishes her as a skillful and innovative interpreter capable of handling this unusual mix of musical genres. This collaboration with husband, Lincoln Mayorga, as pianist and producer, has turned out an original and beautifully transparent sounding recording. Instrumentation includes vocals, guitar, and accordion by Sheri Bauer-Mayorga, Lincoln Mayorga on piano, Pete Toigo on bass, Jeff Kraus on percussion and Trevor Caldwell on Low D whistle. The town of Chatham, New York makes a guest appearance on one tune with its local marching bands, the 2002 Chatham Fair, the local espresso bar, and the mayor's barking beagle.
This is a CD. We do not have vinyl.
